The Lady Rams’ volleyball team has a long history of being a very successful and very dominant sports team.
History has proved that the biggest competition and rival year in and year out is normally the very strong Venice Indians’ volleyball team, also known as the reigning state champions in 7A FHSA girls’ volleyball.
Riverview will have to face them a couple of times this season and look forward to playing a good game against them. Ella Pfiel ’21 is a returning starter, being one of the only freshmen to start on Varsity as during the 2017- 18 season, and she says it is one of her greatest accomplishments.
“My favorite thing is being a returning Varsity player because there aren’t many,” Pfeil said.
With being a part of such a good program comes high expectations. Pfiel says their goal is of course to make it to states, but she knows that this is not easily achieved and does not come without hard work and dedication in practice every single day.
The Lady Rams’ volleyball team is big on team bonding as well—they use it as a way to not only become closer on the court but off the court as well. Team chemistry is very important in high level teams which the Rams seem to have recognize.
