Student-athlete senior sendoff: two stars shine brightly
The Riverview Rams are known to have very strong sports programs that not only grow the boys and girls as players but people as well.
Julian Lowenstein ’19 was a Varsity captain for the Rams’ very successful football team. He credits his position for a great deal of learning.
“This football program helped me grow as a person and into the player I am today,” he said.
Lowenstein is on his way to the very respected and prestigious University of Alabama football program. He is very excited to compete and be around that environment.
“I am very excited to get there and work hard. This is an amazing opportunity for me to earn my spot and take advantage of my opportunities,” he said. He is very excited and rightfully so, as he is off to Alabama just five days after the RHS graduation.
Taylor Currie ’19, a 4-year Varsity player for the Rams’ softball team, is very excited to head off to South Florida State College to continue her academic and softball career.
Currie said that not everything has come easily to her, yet she continued to persevere and work hard, earning her spot on and off the field.
“I am very excited to have the opportunity to continue my softball career while also getting to pursue what I would like to do with the rest of my life,” she said.
Currie says that being a part of this program has also helped her in a multitude of ways, and she cannot wait to take that into real life world.
These seniors believe that being a part of these programs will carry them into the next four years of their life and aid them in making good decisions.
Both Lowenstein ’19 and Currie ’19 believe that being a part of their respective teams will aid them greatly in developing into the person they have always strived to be first, and athlete second.
These two student athletes are very thankful for the opportunities they have had, the coaches they have known and the friends they have made.
