Even throughout this time of isolation, people have not forgotten to contribute to important causes. If you did forget, then that is all right ,too, because it has been a difficult year. But, if you are looking to still help in any way possible, then the Annual Race for the Turtles would surely be grateful.

This year marks the thirty-fifth annual “Race for the Turtles,” organized by Mote Marine Laboratory. With COVID-19, the benefit will be held virtually. Wherever you are, you can join the 5K run or the 1-mile Fun Run/Walk. People can also register just for the great mission and awesome t-shirt.

The Run works as a major fundraiser for the Sea Turtle Conservation & Research Program at the nonprofit Mote Marine Laboratory. Sponsors include Freedom Boat Club, Willis Smith Construction, Sarasota Memorial Urgent Care Centers and more.

Anyone not interested in running, walking, or participating in any kind of race can still gift a donation to the nonprofit which would certainly be appreciated. For those who are interested in participating in the run/walk, there are 4,269 spots left and registration ends on June 30 at 11:59 p.m. EDT.

This is also where you can make donations and sign up for the Virtual Run.
