Riverview JV gets revenge on North Port

Addison Rusco ‘23

The last time the Rams played Northport it was on their own floor, where they fell to the Bobcats 64-63. It was a game the rams had the whole way until turnover after turnover.

Northport got hot behind the arc late in the game to lead. Northport ended with a one point victory after Dallas Collins’ game-winning 3-pointer fell just short.

Over the past months, that has been a game the Rams have been looking forward to, and last night they got a chance at revenge, and hey, they took it. Riverview exploded to start the game on a 30-4. The Rams never had anywhere close to another run like that, but the Rams kept growing their lead and were up 27 at half, getting the lead to as high as 36.

The Rams’ defense was the main reason for the blowout win, creating turnovers and converting them into points to really put this game away. Jayden Dudash led all scores, dropping 24 points on the night, followed by Patrick Monaham, who had 13 points. JV is now on a 3-game winning streak and has won all three of the games by double digits.

The Rams are back on the road against Booker High school Monday afternoon.
