Dunkin' or Starbucks?

As fall is quickly approaching, many fast-food chains are updating their menus to accommodate the new season. Dunkin’ Donuts and Starbucks have released new fall drinks that are the talk of the town. Coffee lovers here at Riverview High share their favorite fall drinks!

A nice, hot cup of coffee is sure to wake up students, teachers, and staff and a great way to start the day. For seasonal drinks, the question of whether Dunkin’ Donuts or Starbucks coffee is more enjoyable, still remains up in the air. In a competition for customers, Dunkin’ Donuts and Starbucks have released their yearly fall drinks with a few new additions to spice it up and attract more customers.

“After trying most of the fall drinks at Starbucks, the Pumpkin Spice Frappuccino was definitely in my top favorite! Fall is my ideal season and I love all things pumpkin!” Leah McFadden ’23.


Naturally, Dunkin’ Donuts released the famous pumpkin flavored coffees (iced or hot, chai latte, cold brew, espresso drinks, and frozen coffee) to kick off the start of fall with additional apple cranberry refreshers! Dunkin’ offers pumpkin flavored baked goods and apple cider donuts to go with your fall beverages.


“I love Dunkin’ Donuts so much! The Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew is one of my favorite drinks they sell, and I always look forward to fall just so they start selling it again.” Ana Anthou ’23.

Starbucks continues this year with their pumpkin cream cold brew, caramel apple spice, apple crisp macchiato, and, of course, the legendary pumpkin spice latte. In addition to the many fall drinks offered, Starbucks is selling a pumpkin cream cheese muffin and the pumpkin scone. Although available year-round, the pumpkin loaf is another favorite during the fall season!

“I prefer Starbucks coffee for sure. The Pumpkin Spice Latte is my favorite seasonal drink!” Ava Zimath ’22.


“I’ve worked at Starbucks for 4 months, so I may be a little biased, but my favorite fall drink is an espresso chai iced latte with blonde expresso, chai syrup, oat milk. and an addition of pumpkin sauce for the seasonal flavoring!” Kai Okamoto ’22.


When fall approaches, it means seasonal drinks and food items are making a comeback to fast-food chain menus. Whether a fan favorite of Dunkin’ Donuts or Starbucks, seasonal fall drinks are a tasty and great way to ring in the new season!
