For those students who are looking for a new hangout spot to spend quality time with friends and family, here is an amazing idea. Arcade Monsters Is a new arcade center that just opened on Feb. 12.

It is located on St. Armands Circle. The new entertainment center is two floors--the first floor is for newer games, and then the second floor is for older games and a lounge center. Tickets start off at $9.99 for an hour, or there's an option for unlimited play, which is $16.99.

It is super eye-catching with the magazine bathrooms, glow-in-the-dark artwork of anime characters, pop and classic culture, and how the neon lights make peoples’ clothes glow.

There are lots of video games that are enjoyable including retro and contemporary console, newer models, pinball, air hockey, imported Japanese rhythm games and more. They offer American comfort food favorites and Cuban cuisine foods.

Teagan King ’23 welcomes the new fun place, but she still wants to practice all the steps toward warding off COVID, like masks.

“I think this is a great hangout spot to hang with my friends, and I look forward to the new experience. However, with St. Armand’s being crowded, I think people should just try their best to continue washing their hands and just be safe in general with Covid going around still,” King said.

Another student Jazlynn Hirschorn ’21 felt that Sarasota needed something new for teens and families, and this place fits the niche.

“I love that now there is a new place to hang with friends and family. I think it sounds super fun, and the food sounds delicious as well. I think this gives people a new awesome experience after going to the same places in Sarasota repeatedly,” Hirschorn said.

Overall, the new Arcade Monsters entertainment center gives students a new opportunity to have a blast with their friends and family. This place is perfect for small get-togethers or even a casual date night. If it sounds interesting, then this is the place to go!
