After the 2020 Stanley Cup championship was won by the Tampa Bay Lightning in a 4-2 series victory, fans had high expectations for the 2021 season.

The Tampa Bay Lightning are now 2-time Stanley Cup champions, winning in 2004 and 2020.

The way the Lightning are playing this season has fans excited for what is to come.

With a 10-3-1 record, the Lightning are leading the central division.

Top scorers for the Lightning include Steven Stamkos with eight goals, Brayden Point with six goals, and Ondrej Palat with six goals.

Steven Stamkos’s injury last year forced him to miss most of the playoff games; however, he has proved that nothing can stop him as he is the leading scorer for the team this season.

Goalie, Andrei Vasilevskiy, has continued to impress fans and continues to be one of the top goalies in the league. Out of his 12 games played this season, Vasilevskiy has a .933% save percentage and a goal against average of 1.92.

With Stamkos being the leading scorer and Vasilevskiy being one of the league’s best goalies, this season is looking very strong for the Lightning.

The Lightning recently faced the Florida Panthers three times. The Lightning put their best effort in, but the Florida Panther offense was too intense. The Lightning were 1-2 against the Florida Panthers.

The Tampa Bay Lightning suffered a 5-2 loss, a 6-1 win, and a 6-4 loss against the Florida Panthers.

The Lightning was scheduled to face the Dallas Stars on Thursday, Feb. 18 at 8:30 p.m. on FSSW and SunS, but it has been postponed because of bad weather in Texas. Also, the Lightning was to play the Dallas Stars again on Feb. 20 at 8 p.m. on FSSW and SunS. No determination as to postponement of Feb. 20 game has been reached at this time.

Lightning fans be sure to tune into future games as the Lightning have so much potential to become Stanley Cup champions two years in a row.
